SOUTH UNION BREAD CAFÉ

This popular luncheon spot, owned and operated by George Formaro, has moved into a much larger space in The Temple. The menu stays the same, but the elbow room grows, with room to seat 60 people.



Every South Union Bakery Cafe sandwich is made from South Union Bakery artisan bread. Our handhewn loaves are as beautiful as they are delicious. In terms of nutrition, no preservatives, conditioners or enhancers are added to the basic dough, so our breads are healthy as well as authentic food. Texturally, these hearty breads, crusty outside, chewy inside, are a great compliment to our menu. We offer the following bread:

Baguette: Long, narrow, yeasted French bread loaf with a crisp crust and slightly chewy interior punctuated by many air holes. Baguettes go well with pates and other appetizers and make excellent crostini.

Focaccia: A relative of pizza, this flat Italian yeast bread incorporates olive oil, with more oil drizzled over its dimpled top.

Country Italian: Classic, hearty bread with a crisp outer layer.
